GARY ANGLIN

When Gary Anglin and The Voices of CCC released in September 2003, it entered the CRW SoundScan chart at #1 and Billboard at #3, remaining in the top 50 for 6 weeks – unheard of for a debut artist. Today, Gary is preparing to release the follow-up to that first project.

When Gary sings, his voice reflects a heart filled with appreciation for God’s work in his life – a life Gary knows is on God’s time. Gary is no stranger to significant health issues. God brought him through those trials, but the biggest challenges were yet to come. In 1994, Gary suffered a stroke, followed by a heart attack the next year. Then, in 1999 came the “C” word. A diagnosis of cancer strikes at the core of any patient. In 2000, when Gary returned for a check-up, the cancer was gone. “There is healing when we worship, focusing on God rather than our circumstance. We can be set free from fear and trust in what God has for us. Without question, the enemy tried to discourage me, but there is no discouragement in the midst of praise. God meets us there. When I lead worship, I challenge people to lay aside their concerns, no matter what, and rest in God in worship. For me, that is not an empty phrase – I have lived it.”

“My desire is to help people get deeper into worship and experience the presence of God in their worship." Gary says. His self titled, debut CD - Gary Anglin and The Voices of CCC made that desire happen.

Born in Savannah, Georgia and reared in Harlem, Gary, was raised with sounds of music. His mother was a jazz songstress who graced stages in metropolitan areas, often times with young Gary in tow. During this time, she saw to it that her child was well versed in the Christian faith. He not only flourished spiritually, but displayed exceptional musical gifts at an early age. Although the New York native had never considered a musical life, his debut actually came when he sang at his mother's church. Gary would later join an actor's guild called "Writers and Residence" where he had his first taste of the spotlight. Proficient without any professional vocal training, he was offered the lead role in the production of "The Gospel According to Tommy Dorsey" followed by a lead principle position in "No Name in the Street."

After realizing that singing was the vehicle best suited to express his creative passion, Gary teamed with his wife and established His & Her Records. Their debut album featured a mixture of R&B and contemporary gospel rhythms that appealed to a massive audience.

As Gary continued to grow creatively and spiritually, with the vision of broadening his reach to include people from many cultures and walks of life, he was introduced to the Christian Cultural Center and Pastor A.R. Bernard. Within six months Gary's talents were recognized by Pastor Bernard and he was asked to join The Voices of Christian Cultural Center, the energy packed, spirit-filled, vocal vehicle for communicating the Word & Glorifying God.

Gary's unique blend of traditional gospel and contemporary flavor has helped him to minister to a broad audience. "My producers, James Johnson and Michael Wilkenson, just know how to bring the best out of me. I also enjoyed working with Mel Holder and especially with Joni Lamb on the song We Come to Worship You." Gary says. The music of Gary Anglin is Commanding, Powerful, Prolific, and Sacred. As audiences from around the world listen to this tenor/baritone, the worship community embraces his gift and talent wholeheartedly.
